Help me put an axe build together.
I have a new found interest in playing my warrior again and I've come to the realization that I'm completely clueless when it comes to putting together builds for the class. I'm aware that running dragon slash is pretty common amongst most of the warriors today but I'd like to have some variety because I've just been using that.
So I'd like to have something "spammy" with a decent dps output. I also love IAS+IMS so that's a must.
What I have so far is:
Cleave
Furious Axe
Power Attack
-
-
I Am The Strongest!
Flail
For Great Justice!
And possibly
Enraging Charge
Suggestions/Comments on it? I'm not sure if using Cleave is really a good idea. I just figured it would match well due to it's low adren req and decent damage output

Cyclone Axe and Power Attack are both nice skills that you can spam with an axe, right? But they both cost energy..
Hmm, isn't there an elite that helps with that?
Add Asuran Scan to that and whatnot.

FGJ lets you use cleave on every other hit while it's up. Your build is pretty energy heavy so you might need to add more adrenal attacks or go Warrior's Endurance. Enraging charge isn't worth it for one cheap ade attack. If you aren't bringing an OoP hero then bring a conjure for more damage.

Why Power Attack? It's baed. Unless you use Warrior's Endurance, but then you should use a scythe.

Forgot about FGJ!, That should definitely be on there. I really like the IMS + ability to cancel out flail so I've been using enraging charge. I honestly would rather have an elite axe attack over WE.

my opinion?
Cleave/you could take Magehunter's Strike for smexyness with a zealous weapon
Dismember
Agonizing Chop
Flail
Distracting Shot
Enraging Charge
FGJ! OR Antidote Signet
Resurrection Signet
I'd suggest this merely because it has more balls(dshot, res sig, magehunters) than 99%(maybe 100) of the pve builds(the buff+buff+buff+damage builds eotn and updates after it introduced are well... 1. not fun 2. mindless)

Let's say you run 14 axe. Cleave will do +29 damage and totally ---- up your ability to run Save Yourselves! or anything else that matters, like Dismember.
Power Attack, on the other hand, gives +28 damage at only 9 strength and DOESN'T take up your elite slot. If you do run Warrior's Endurance, you have adrenaline for deep wound, PVE skills, SY!, etc. You also get to spam Cyclone Axe for - yes, you guessed it - more adrenaline.
There's a reason no one uses Cleave.

now this is the "most effective pve f**ker" version. yes it is more effective. it is also more crappy.

First thing to note is that oth Cleave and DSlash were designed with sustained DPS in mind, and of the two DSlash does the job loads better. Imho you're better off taking something else.

I Am The Strongest! Simply not worth it without Air of Superiority (and even then it's iffy)
Flail or Frenzy, since that doesn't slow you down or keep you from spamming right away
For Great Justice! Yes!
And possibly
Enraging Charge Both sinks are 4 adren. Not worth it

tl;dr: It doesn't match well with DSlash

Bobby,
1 this is PvE.
2 people get bored running the same build all the time and I don't blame them for switching things up.
3 Cleave is about right, it's that other things were either buffed in power over time or found a good group of skills to work with.
While Marty did a good job of assembling a good collection of builds, I also think we might need to start collecting a group of second-tier builds for people who can't run the main ones, are bored with the better ones, or want a little more challenge.

[[Cleave] used to be good for its spamming but with power creep, it can't compare to other skills now. Its better you spam [[Power Attack] on recharge and have [[Warrior's Endurance (PvE)] to support the energy. But then if you're using WE, you might as well go scythe because its better but then its not an axe build anymore.

Cleave/Drunken Master/FGJ!/optional x5
At which point I would argue that WE Axe is more enjoyable to run - you get to press more buttons!

[[Eviscerate] really isn't that good for PvE since its not spammy or AoE.

I've found this axe build to be entertaining to run:
[Battle Rage]
[Dismember]
Optional (either [Axe Twist][Disrupting Chop][Lion's Comfort])
[Executioner's Strike]
[Brawling Headbutt] Optional ([Ear Bite] or one of the above)
[Save Yourselves!]
[Enraging Charge]
It's not very often that you run into Soothing Memories, and the other mesmer skills are easy to counter, simply change targets. Rangers can be a PITA with their blocking, but again, swap targets and let your backline nuke the heck out of that ranger.
The only skill that would be a huge benefit would be Asuran Scan, but since this build relies on your adrenaline to keep consistent DPS, I've chosen to leave it out. If you take it though, I'd recommend replacing Ear Bite with it, since bleeding is meh.

If you're using power attack + cyclone axe, be sure to use a zealous axe. Run into a mob, power attack, cyclone axe, you got half your energy back. However, thats depending on the mob. IAS + zealous is awesome.

If, after that, you're still dead set on making an axe build, aim for all of the following: - Reasonable SY! uptime.
- A bit of KD with BH.
- Lots of packet spam. Probably Cyclone + WW + WE
Good luck.

or i could just run something that i find enjoyable instead of going with your guidelines.
